After my Taiwan trip last August 16, 2017, I flew to Davao City and visited my hometown…on the same day. It was a continuation of my vacation and of course, a chance to visit my family, relatives, and friends. I arrived at Davao Int’l Airport around 05:30 pm. From there, I need to take an hour-long bus ride going to Tagum City where my sister and my mom are waiting for me.
At 07:00 pm, I arrived at the Tagum City Bus Station and met my family. We had a quick dinner and drove home for an hour.
In the morning, I needed to wake up early and travel back going to Davao City because I need to fetch Richard (my friend/colleague) at the airport and be his tour guide. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able wake up in time. He was unable to contact me on my mobile phone because there is no signal in our place. To make the story short, I arrived in the Davao City around 03:00 pm. Instead of me touring him around, I was the one who called him up asking for directions fow to the Airbnb place we booked. Hahaha
At night, together with my niece & nephew, we went to Roxas Night Market to have our dinner. We also visited the People’s Park. It was so crowded because it was Kadayawan Festival the next day. The security in the area was very tight. Every street had designated policemen to check and patrol the area. We walked around, bought some food and drinks and watched some local band performances along the street.
On our 2nd day, we visited the Crocodile Park to experience the wildlife. Here are some photos of our adventure:
On our 3rd day, we woke up early to attend and witness the Kadayawan Street Dance Parade. At around 1:00 pm, we headed back to our Airbnb to get our stuff as we were headed to our house next.
On our 4th day, we went to Mainit Sulfuric Hot Spring, one of the tourist attractions in our place. From the house, we had to drive/ride a single motorcycle for 20mins. The entrance fee (Php 5.00) and the cottage (Php 20.00) here is very cheap. We stayed here for an hour.
After lunch, we left our house and traveled back to the city to catch our flight going back to Manila. I hope Richard enjoyed his quick visit to my hometown and was satisfied with my tour guide skills. Hahaha
