After my Seoul, Korea trip last April 2017, my friends invited me to join them for a 6-day Taiwan trip just a few months after. At first, I was hesitant to say yes because I don’t have extra money to spend. However, Geoff from was very persistent and offered me very tempting deals just for me to say yes. In the end, I gave in and booked my plane ticket.

On August 11, 2017, Geoff, Gizelle, Marga and Denise flew to Taipei a day ahead of me because I was not allowed to take a leave from work. So the next day, I flew alone going to Taipei via Cebu Pacific Airlines #cebtravels. It was a quick two-hour trip, so I didn’t mind traveling alone.

Around 12:10 am, I arrived at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and I was shocked when I saw that the line at the immigration was too long. It took me around 30 to 40 minutes just to finish the immigration counter.

After getting through immigration, the first thing I did was to find a moneychanger inside the airport because I don’t have Taiwanese dollars to pay the bus ticket going to Ximending. I found one but sadly, the exchange rate was quite low.

My original plan was to get on a bus. However, realizing that the estimated travel time from the airport going to Taipei Main Station would be about 3hours if I take a bus ride, I booked an Uber instead. After all, I didn’t want to hassle Gizelle by waiting for three hours for me at the hotel lobby.

It took me about an hour to get to our hotel at Ximending from the airport. Booking an Uber cost me NT 1,058.00! When I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted by the cheery faces of my friends waiting for me, and welcoming me like I’m a superstar! Hahaha
