I said yes in real time soon as I got an email invitation to attend the Opening and Media Event for Morganfield’s last August 10, 2016. Ribs sounded good…make that great to me. Due to my #PokemonGo obsession, however, I forgot to dress up for the event that day. But despite not being outfit-ready, I told myself this is not an event that I will miss. As they say, “The Show Must Go On”.
So what does “Sticky Bones” mean and did Morganfield’s live up to its tagline –“The Biggest Pork Ribs In Town”? Read on.
Most people like me won’t be aware that Morganfield’s is an American diner known for having the biggest and juiciest pork rib dishes. Outside the US and in Southeast Asia, Morganfield’s began operations in Malaysia and the have since expanded to Singapore, China and now, here in the Philippines.
During the event, we were fortunate to have been served these wonderful items off their menu:
“Crab & Spinach Dip” – juicy crab meat & bay spinach cooked with parmesan cheese, served with corn tortilla. This is a different, tangy and refreshing take on the usual Nacho dip.
“Ribs Sampl3r” – (Php 3,295.00 Inclusive of 12% Vat and subject to 10% service charge). This half slab is divided into 3 flavors namely Smoked Peppercorn, Spicy Asian BBQ & Hickory BBQ and comes with a grilled Footlong Farmer’s Bratwurst Sausage, Grilled Spicy Devil Sausage, Grilled Herby Hog Sausage, Garden Salad, Grilled Corn on the cob, Corn Bread & Crispy French fries. This is a feast for meatlovers. You will definitely enjoy the variety.
My personal favorite was the Spicy Asian BBQ Spare Ribs because I love eating spicy foods. Every bit of it the ribs was flavorful be because it was slowly smoked for hour in coal and hickory wood.
Morganfield’s indeed lived up to its name. I am no connoisseur but their ribs are one of the best I’ve tried so far.
For those who would like to try a bit of this rib heaven, come and visit Morganfield’s. They are now open at the North Wing, Entertainment Mall, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
